How to Thrive in Your Workout Routine

“Failing to plan is planning to fail.”

It seems simple right? Planning ahead. We plan our meals, our outfits, and our evening plans. And when this is done, we feel much more relieved and prepared, right? So, why can’t we implement this idea into our workout plans? It suddenly feels like a chore.

The ability to plan ahead has always satisfied my inner Capricorn. I am very much a list person. I even have lists for my lists. If it’s not written down in my planner or in one of my lists, I will most likely forget it forever. So, when I discovered that I was able to plan my workouts ahead of time with Fly, I was in absolute heaven.

Since joining Fly in June of 2019, I’ve only ever planned my classes. It’s too risky. Especially when I have that favorite bike (I know you do, too) and I have definitely been successful in the attending class department. The thing about planning ahead is that you’re able to format your work week and plans around your fitness schedule or visa versa. Getting burnt out is real. Believe me, I’ve been there. I love knowing that I am balancing my cycle, barre, and yoga classes and am not doing too much of one each week.

This also leads to a “no excuses” mentality. If it’s on my calendar, I’ve planned for it and there is no excuse not to hit the gym. They always say, “getting to the gym is the hardest part of working out” and I believe that to the fullest. Have you ever regretted a good sweat session? Probably not. Have you ever regretted the endorphin rush you feel post-workout? Probably not.

My efforts in pre-planning my workout week have only been successful. I honestly feel like this can work out for everyone. Whether you’re a busy mom or student, planning your gym time into your week takes one less thing off of your to-do list. I’ve lost some weight and gained some muscle, but most of all I’ve gained confidence. Confidence that I haven’t felt since I was in college. Confidence that I can do anything I set my mind to (as long as it’s in my planner) and confidence in a way I’ve never understood before. Confidence to mess up. Confidence to not be perfect. Confidence to be myself.

The support and tools that Fly has given me are beyond measure. These are my people.
